Two for Me, One for Sally

One of the items I bought at the recent LLK sale was a book called One Skein. It's a great book! There are 30 projects in the book and most do seem like quick knits. For example, a knitting friend of mine had a birthday coming up and I wanted to knit her something special (and quick). The book had a lot to offer - I finally deceided on the Felted Bowls. I always wanted to try some and knew I had some Lopi in my stash to pick from. These bowls were a really quick knit and fun. Will do again for sure!

I ended up making three and here are the bowls before felting,

and here they are after. (tried to get the same angle…)

For Sally's I filled it with some Lavender scented potpourri.

Happy Birthday Sally!

Stitch Diva's New Business Card

Remember last week when I said I had a freelance job to work on? Well, here it is and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
It's a two sided, business card designed for Jennifer Hansen at Stitch Diva Studios. I was very honored to get the job and I think it turned out great! If I do say so myself :)

Jennifer is one cool chic and is great to work with and if you haven't checked out Stitch Diva Studios go there right now! She's a cutting edge designer with a lot to offer for the knitter and crocheter. I personally have some Ultra Alpaca just waiting to be used for the Simple Knitted Bodice but I'm also getting distracted by her Goddess pattern - that is really too cool!

Pink Paper Bag

Itty-bitty Hats, by Susan B. Anderson is the best baby hat book ever! I know I've said it before but I just can't get enough of these little creations. I'm never let down when I knit one. They are great quick projects and wonderful to give as gifts - very unique. I get one knocked out in about 2 evenings of knitting (about 6 hrs total) tonight I finished this one watching American Idol. Go Blake!

This hat is the "Pink Paper Bag" pattern, see it there? Right on the cover. I used Reynolds, Saucy, 100% Mercerized Cotton. This one is going to LLK as a store sample.

LUV IK!

I get so excited when my favorite knitting magazine arrives in the mail. Interweave Knits is just great! They also have a great website with additional beauty shots and free patterns.
I have my eye on this……see there is some Debbie Bliss, Pure Silk at LLK that's on sale and I've been itching to get it on my needles. I wonder if the gauge would work? I sure don't want to end up with another disaster, but gosh, wouldn't the silk drape just beautifully. Now I just have to figure out how it's acutally worn?

And look, what's this on page 28?

Come on, look closer…
Yup, Knitterella product! Yippee!!! :)

Neglected Since Feb. 05!

My LYS is having a Spring Clearance Sale on yarn - you know what that means - I'll be adding more to my ever growing yarn stash. I'm already a little embarrassed as to how big my stash is but still, I can't pass up a sale on quality yarn! Anyways, what IS embarrassing is as I was trying to sort of organize the stash I already have to make room for more I found this…this has been at this stage since February 2005!!! Which is such a shame because I would totally wear this all the time. It's so close to being finished too. The back panel, 2 front panels, and arms are already knitted up all I have to do is pick up for the collar and button bands and then seam. The pattern is the Hip Hop Coat, designed by Ann Budd, out of the Interweave Knits, Winter 2005 issue. I used Lion Brand, Landscapes instead of Berroco, Hip-Hop to save a little cash. The colorway is nice too, looks much better in person.
I'm making it a priority this weekend to finish before I'm distracted by any new yarn - wish me luck!
