Icing On The Cake

I got my hands back on my needles and was able to get a good amount done on the hats my friend requested.

Now all that's left to do is the 'icing on the cake' and those babes will be styling for their 1st Birthday photoshoot!

Backseat

Man, I sure haven't been able to blog as much as I'd like to lately, just been busy, busy. I have a lot of new things going on and because of it all my knitting has taken a backseat, but hey, it's not too bad when it's the backseat of a new car :)

So the car is one of the new things and another is my new hair cut - I totally love it too!

I never did get my shrug done in time for the wedding - bummer - now before I can finish that I have a couple hats to get done per request of a friend. Hopefully things will slow down a bit and I'll be able to get back into my knitting soon - and sewing too - I miss my machine!

There's No Way

There's no way this Lacy Hug Me Tight Shrug will get done in time for the wedding I'm attending. I keep ribbing and ribbing, ribbing so much and so fast my fingers hurt! After the ribbing is finally done I'll still have all the lace to do too. Who was I kidding thinking I'd be able to get it done within a week.

Too bad to, it would have looked perfect with my dress.

A Busta Bust

After all the stash research I did I was able to come up with multiple projects that I could work on. I need to finish at least one before I can buy more yarn for something else and boy do I have the itch to buy new yarn and knit new sweaters for me - I think the fall weather creeping up us has a lot to do with it!

I'm pretty excited about my picks - still can't believe all this yarn I have in my stash but these projects will put a dent in it for sure! First off, the Lacy Hug Me Tight Shrug from Knit 2 Together. You know I love my shrugs and I'm going to try to get this done for an up coming wedding next weekend. I know I'm cuttin' it close on time so we'll see if I actually get it done.

This will bust about 7 skeins of my Reynolds, Mandalay

Then I'm going to knit a sweater for me. I'm very excited for this one! I don't have the pattern picture to show you yet but you are going to love it. And yes, it involves all these buttons!

This will bust about 16 skeins of Elsebeth Lavold, Baby Llama from my stash

But before I even cast on for either of those I have to finish this baby set. I actually finished the first one that I showed you a sneak peek of but it looked way to small so I'm re-knitting this waaaay belated baby gift to a bigger size and I better move fast, I don't want the baby to out grow it before I even cast off!

This bust about 4 skeins of my Berroco, Ultra Alpaca

If I'm successful and stick to these projects I'll bust about 27 skeins from my stash!!! Then I won't feel so buy when I go buy more  ;)

Hope to show you some FOs soon!

I'm a Cowgirl

I finished my Cowgirl Slipper Socks and I love 'em! I've been looking for a nice slipper pattern for a while. Something that knits up pretty quick and doesn't take a lot of yarn. This pattern is perfect and will be great for knitted gifts.

Love that it only took one skein of my stash yarn from The Plucky Knitter. Especially because I've got plenty more where that came from!

I Must Stash Bust

I'm so ready to start a project for myself. Something with a bit more substantial like another shrug or a sweater. I have a few in mind - actually a lot in mind. That's because every time I go to my LYS they have wonderful new patterns, books and yarn and I just want it all! Every time I open a new pattern book I fall for something new. I have so many patterns in mind that I know I want to do but I'm forcing myself to knit something with stash yarn before I allow myself to go buy more yarn. I've got to - I have way too much stash!

This is my coffee table and I'm driving myself nuts! I keep finding patterns I want then I swatch, swatch, swatch with stash, stash, stash trying to find something that works and I can't seem to. But I'm determined to and I will! I need to do some stash bustin'!

Lazy Labor Day

Last year for Labor Day I walked the bridge, this year was spent at the lake, lying in the sun, the whole long weekend! Nothing like enjoying the last few lazy days of summer soakin' up the hot sun.

I got very little knitting accomplished but enough to finish one of my Cowgirl Slipper Socks. Perfect fit!

Now I'm off to the pool! Hope you all are enjoying your Labor Day!
