Cuddly Owl

Just finished my Owl! Isn't he cute? Just one of the cuddly critters I want to make from this group.

I'll have to see what colors I have in my stash to see what I can cast on for next. I'm itching to do the Giraffe but need more yellow so that one will have to wait. Maybe I'll try the crocheted Puppy or Bunny next. They're just so cute and fun!

Favorite Blanket

Next on my needles is the Alphabet Blanket from The Baby Knits book by Debbie Bliss. From the first time I saw it, years ago, I always wanted to knit it but never wanted to knit it for anyone else but me. Now the time has come that I can! The yarn I ordered just came in and I'm anxious to start.

With a block for each letter of the alphabet, all the chart work scares me a bit but it will be so worth it!

Rainbow Marley

Continuing the 'rainbow' theme I knit this cute Rainbow Marley. This can definitely be for a boy or a girl.

Thanks for the comments on the Rainbow Stripes. I think I'm going to knit another one and replace the pink with yellow. Just to be sure it can go either way. I was getting caught up on the pink too.

Rainbow Stripes

Has a week really went by since my last post? I don't even have much to report as far as projects go besides some hats that I'm working on - you know I always have hats on my needles. I finished this one…

Tell me, could this be for a baby boy OR girl? I was going for gender neutral but does the pink in it make too girly? Either way I love the colorful stripes!

Cuddly Critters

Did you all see the Winter 2009 issue of Liondesign. You know, the catalog from Lion Brand? It's a free catalog to sign up for. Anyway, aren't these knitted (and crocheted) critters so stinking cute!? I have to get to them sometime soon. I want to try the Giraffe for sure, and the Owl and the Octopus and, oh gosh, they are all so cute!

If you gotta make these like I do, they're free patterns and you can find them here. Have fun!

Doll For Miss O

I was able to finish my doll in time for Christmas and it was a hit! Miss O was so excited to see that I made this for her. The excitement on her face made me so happy. Now she has a doll to match the bag I gave her last year.

I embroidered the face this time and really liked the way it turned out. I think that will be my go-to way to do the face detail from now on. (Love the freckles!)

Even though I was in a rush to finish it reminded me how much fun this pattern from the talented The Black Apple is to make. I do hope to make more (definitely more for BZ!). My friend Sara is having fun making them too. Check out her dolls - Love the western wear she gave them!

I want to you THANK YOU all for the sweet words and well wishes for me. You are all so kind of a supportive. I feel the love! Thank you all so much - we really appreciate it.

Baby Knits

I'm getting out my baby knit books because 2009 is going to be a year of baby knits for me.

Baby knits and Knitterella - I know that isn't much of a surprise but the catch is this time they are for ME!!! Yes, 2009 is going to be a great year and we couldn't be happier!

Here's to an amazing 2009 for us all! Happy New Year!!!

Just incase you are interested in the sweet Elephant pattern above - it's a free download by Susan B. Anderson that you can find here - my Ravelry link is here. It's a fun knit and when I was knitting it I never thought it'd be for my baby but now it's going in the nursery and patiently waiting for BZ!
