The first time I saw the original 'hat and mittens' advent garland from
Garnet Hill I totally wanted it. Of course I couldn't buy it because this was something I knew I could knit. Even though I found a knock-off pattern of it
HERE I never had the chance to make it - was never organized enough to start it in time for Christmas. However, this year I'm going to do it! This year I've given myself a knitting quota. A two-per-month quota…

With only one day left of January I've cut it close but nonetheless I got my first two done. Aren't they too cute? Here's hoping I keep the momentum going.
If this sounds like a good idea to you too then you should join me! Find the Adventskalendar pattern

HERE. Hey, maybe I should start a Ravelry Group?
It's a great idea (the 2-per-month quota)! It will be so cute!
ReplyDeleteI too want to knit an advents calendar before next Dec. Can I knit-a-long with you?? I haven't begun yet, but maybe your progress will inspire me! Btw, read your blog faithfully. Love your graphic designs!
ReplyDeleteMittens 1 and 2 are bright and happy, and what fun it will be to be ahead of schedule next December!
ReplyDeleteI write that as someone who has fallen way behind my resolution to do some sort of drawing each and every day. I had a bit of a catch up with my sketchbook today, but hope to find my way back into a drawing groove as January drifts into February.

Very cute! Knitting 2 per month is a great idea; you'll definitely have this ready for Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be such a cute advent calendar!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else, a quota is a great idea....I am even tempted to try to catch up.....I decided to make my own Advent Calendar every year.
ReplyDeletei love it; start a group! i have to reknit my own adventskalendar because my dogs ate (yes! ate!) ours this year. the treats were just too tempting...
ReplyDeletei love your numbers. are you crocheting them and then hand stitching them on, or ...?
Lovely idea and a lovely calendar! Just remember that you'll have to knit a bit more than 2 per month, if you want to be finished by dec 1st....
