Resurrected

My beloved socks are saved! I had no idea darning a sock was so easy and useful. Thank you, Thank you! You guys are the best for pointing me in the right direction on how to save my socks.

As you suggested, I looked here, and here and a few other places and figured out that darning is a really easy and great tool. I didn't have a mushroom or egg but I learned a light bulb works just fine.

Because you all saved my socks I want pay it back with some free Knitterella product. Maybe a set of my Knitted Sock note cards? Or Knitterella Gift Tags? Whatever you want! Leave me a comment and I will draw a name at random and send you your product pick of choice. I'll leave this contest open for a couple days and come back with a winner… or two!

Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my FOOT!

Ladder Stitch

This would have been done a long time ago but I decided to finish stitching up the halter straps by hand. Time consuming but the finish work is very nice.

First time using this Ladder Stitch - what a great stitch, very professional finish.

JVC Video On Mac

We got a JVC Everio and I have a Mac. I can't get the videos to play on my Mac for the life of me. Anyone with this camcorder and a Mac? Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Just throwing it out there to see if anyone has any tips or can help. Thanks!

Flowers For You!

Thank you Peaknit and all you knitters for helping me! You girls were right, I needed to CO in that sequence every RS row. Gosh, for what seemed to read so complicated to me turned out to be very easy after your help.

Here's some flowers to express my appreciation!

Aren't these beautiful? This photo is straight out of the camera too - no color retouching - that's how gorgeous the color is!

Hey, if I don't get back to blogging have a great Memorial Weekend!

42 Stitches Per Minute

I knit with the English Method - in other words 'I'm a thrower' - and at a good clip I can knit 42 stitches per minute.

Why am I saying this? No reason really. Well, maybe it's because I suddenly realize I have a handful of baby hats to knit and I'm trying to get them done as fast as I can!

So how about you? Do you throw or pick? I'm curious to know how fast a Continental Knitter (a picker) can go. I think there are like speed knitting contest out there. Wonder how fast they can go?! Wonder if they all pick? Anway, I've always wanted to try switching methods just because I heard the Continental is way is faster and easier but I aways go back to throwing.

Maybe I'll still switch one day but for now, the English Method suits me just fine!

Karate Sweater Progress

My Karate Sweater is coming along! I'm just holding these pieces together but here's a glimpse. The yarn feels great on. I'm getting really excited to finish!

The problem I was having with this, is that when I knit it to the desired length and take it off the needles, the yarn kind of sprung together so it looked so much shorter and it was driving me nuts. I think this was mainly happening because of the stitch pattern. So when I actually held it up on me the gravity pulled it to the correct length. Anyways…

Look at me needle felting my yarn together! Pretty clever, eh?I had the supplies and thought since the yarn is 100% wool, it should work. Right? Well, it did! It's a little fuller where the ends are felted together but it's nice to have one continuous ball of yarn!
