LOGO: MEOWers

Isn't this just the cutest cat logo you've ever seen? Well, I think so and so does Vickie Howell. Vickie recently asked me to design a custom logo for her personal knitting group called The "MEOWers". What a fun job this was — I just love the way it turned out!

LOGO: Wool Therapy

I wanted to share with you a recently finished logo for Missy of Wool Therapy. Missy came to me with a good idea of what she wanted and we were able to translate her vision into a beautiful logo.

I'm all about this kind of 'therapy' aren't you?

Missy has a passion for the fiber arts that has lead her to become a knitter, spinner, weaver and dyer. She took her first dyeing class in July of 2009 and has never looked back.

You can find her hand dyed goods at her Etsy shop HERE.

LOGO: Hippie Chic

I just finished another fun logo for The Plucky Knitter. 'Hippie Chic' is a new yarn club with colorways inspired from the psychedelic 70s. If you are a 'Hippie Chic' or love what that time era was about, this is a club that you're sure to want to be a part of!

And you can be a part of it too! This new club will be available in Sarah's shop update tomorrow at Noon Eastern. I can't wait to see the colors that Sarah dreams up. What fun!

LOGO: Plucky Fellas

I just finished this fun logo for The Plucky Knitter. Plucky Fellas is a new yarn club with yarn designed for your inner tomboy. That means that all the yarn will be dyed in masculine colorways.

So for this logo, we needed to think of a fella/boys club type icon to incorporate. I keep thinking of an illustration of a mustache. OK, I really wanted to incorporate the 'stash'! I just love how it turned out. Sophisticated with a touch of whimsy… Looks like a club I'd want to be a part of!

And you can be a part of it too! For more info check out Plucky's blog post HERE. Sounds like fun to me!

LOGO: Cakewalk Yarns

I've been busy, busy with design work for Jill Zielinski Designs and Knitterella. I couldn't be more happier about that and I couldn't be more pleased with this new logo design that I recently finished for Cakewalk Yarns.

When Rose from Cakewalk Yarns contacted me and told me she was looking for a "face lift" to her existing logo I was happy to take on the design challenge. She told me that her yarn is kind of "alternative" and she was hoping for a logo that gave that impression but at the same time is not be completely off-putting to the mainstream.

Here was her logo before:

And here is her logo after:

I'd say that we were successful in designing a new logo that is a bit edgy/punk/roller derby/retro, but not too much that is scares people away. I'm quite pleased with the new, fun look and I'm very happy to say that Rose is too!

Hand-dyed in Michigan - YAY for fellow Michiganders! - her yarn is not the same old, same old. She sent me a skein and I'm looking forward to making something with it - I'm thinking hat! Anyway, be sure to check out Rose's beautiful, hand-dyed yarn at here shop HERE.

LOGO: Strickcafé

Jill Zielinski Designs has gone international! This logo was recently created for an online knitting shop based out of Switzerland.

When Anna, owner of Stickcafé, contacted me I asked her what "Strickcafé" meant. She said, it's basically what you call knitting together and drinking coffee and tea. Sounds great to me! I'm really happy with the way the final logo turned out. I think you see the translation of the name in the graphics of the logo.

Anna started her online store in 2008. It's a joint project with her mom. The shop is going great and they are having so much fun together. Be sure to check out Anna's online hope www.strickcafe.ch and the blog strickcafe.blogspot.com.

LOGO: Mindy Wilkes Designs

When Mindy contacted me to do a logo for her, one of her requests was to design something that reflected her Appalachian roots that she is very proud of. A few icons she requested were a log cabin, rocking chair or a porch swing. To me the idea of the rocking chair totally went with knitting. I could picture her relaxing in a rocking chair, knitting away on her porch, and what a lovely idea that was. Thank you Mindy for contacting me - this is another logo that I'm very pleased to add to my my portfolio.

Mindy is just starting out with designing but already has a few beautiful shawls under her belt. She also tells me that she'll have a few more projects coming out this fall. Please check out her blog Sharp Pointy Sticks and also her Ravelry pattern store HERE.

LOGO: indie.knits

I continue to keep busy designing logos for fellow knitters and I'm so thankful for that. I recently finished this one for indie.knits and I have to say I love it!

When Cory contacted me she said she mentioned she'd like to see a logo option with the sakura blossom in it. I was excited about this idea and am glad that the final logo reflected this look.

Cory is new to knitwear design and soon we will be seeing her patterns. She will be designing for men and women. Her inspiration comes from vintage clothing, Japanese style and menswear. You can check her out at her website blog.indie.knits.com.

LOGO: Amy Herzog Designs

I have definitely been busy with logos these days and I'm loving it! Here is another recent logo I did for a knitwear designer that you will know for sure…

Amy is a self-describe, highly technical knitter who is "on a crusade to help others create wardrobe staples." (Don't you just love that.) She currently has a big article on her and her work in the Fall 2011 issue of Knitscene. You can also see one of her many new patterns published in the current fall issue of Twist Collective. It's called Twinings and is an adorable mock-wrap pullover.

So just incase you haven't already, go check out her WEBSITE, BLOG and PATTERNS. Amy is a true talent and so nice to work with - I'm honored that I got to design her logo.

LOGO: Alaskan Purl

It was pretty ironic when Allison Haas of Alaskan Purl contacted me to do a logo for her. Ironic because just the week before I was admiring an Alluvia Felted Tote Bag that a friend at my knitting group just finished. Turns out, the adorable felted tote is one of Allison's many beautiful patterns. I was pretty excited to get an email from her asking for a new logo design.

Allison was a great art director on this project. She knew that she wanted to combine her love for her Alaskan surroundings and her passion for knitting. Through her direction I was so pleased to create a logo for her that reflected just that.

If you haven't already, be sure to check out Allison's blog Alaskan Purl. Along with her current pattern line (that you can see HERE) she has new patterns coming out this fall and winter. You've probably already seen one of her newest designs in the just released fall issue of Twist Collective. The name of the pattern is Footsie and it's really impressive!

As if that's not enough… she also told me that she is partnered with an indy dyer and working on an e-book of socks that will be released early in the new year. How exciting! Allison is definitely a talented to keep your eye out for in the knitting world.

Logo: Wandering Wool

I had a fun time designing this happy little sheep in the mountains for Joelle of Wandering Wool. Joelle designs beautiful, vibrant, hand-dyed yarns inspired by her travels. She had a vision of what she wanted her logo to look like and I'm so pleased I was able to translate it into the perfect little logo for her.

Be sure to visit Joelle's blog Wandering Wool and see her beautiful hand-dyed yarns. She also has a separate blog for her pattern designs called Adirondack Knits.

I'm also excited to share with you a new, redesigned and update JillZielinskiDesigns.com. It's something that's been on my 'to do' list for a long time and I finally took the time for some 'me work'. It's not totally updated but it's mostly updated and I'm so happy it's live. Please check it out!

Logo: Behind The Seams

Knitting related companies aren't the only kind of the logos I do. Here's one I just finished for Behind The Seams. Yes, it's still a fiber related business and I love it!

What a fun logo job this was! I was very happy when Susan of Jellidonut contacted me to work on a logo design for her. Logo: KnitQuest

Although I might not have been up to a lot of knitting lately I'm definitely keeping busy with design work. That is always a good thing! Recently I had the pleasure of working with Samantha Roshak of KnitQuest. She came to me with a request to do a logo for her and the finish design is posted below. This is a really unique logo and I think it fits her perfectly! It's always a joy when the final result is just want the client wanted.

Refreshed

I'm feeling refreshed these days. Getting my knitting mojo back! A lot of it had to do with spending last week in sunny Florida. It was so needed and so much fun! Can you believe I didn't even pack a knitting project for the trip? I seriously was in a major knitting funk but I feel it coming back now.

I don't have any FOs to show you today but I wanted to tell you about VERSUS

VERSUS is the brainchild of Shannon from Luv In The Mommyhood. It's all about Comfy Sews VS Cozy Knits. A friendly, virtual boxing match! She asked me to do the logo and other design work for this project and I was glad to help. VERSUS officially kicks off this Monday. There will be lots of inspiring tutorials, patterns, giveaways and more. What fun! So, what corning of the ring will you be in?
