Design More

Well, Hello… anyone out there? I hope so! I now I was gone for awhile with Christmas break and all so I hope you are still here. I really enjoyed my time off with my growing family. It was just a wonderful Christmas and New Years and I hope yours was as well.

It was so nice to be off but I'm really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. I have one big New Years resolution this year and it's to DESIGN MORE! I plan to do more design work via my graphic design business but also to design more products and patterns for Knitterella. I'm pretty proud of myself when I look back on my resolution post from last year. I really feel that I came through with my goals and I set out to do what I wanted. I'm so impressed with the clientele and jobs that I got last year with my Jill Zielinski Designs business. I'm SO thankful and I love the clients that I work/worked with. I have meet so many wonderful people in the knitting industry and can't wait to see who I'll meet in 2012. Although I didn't design as many knitting patterns as I had hoped I did finally get the courage to come out with my first. My Smocked Slouch hat pattern was the first knitting pattern for me to release and this year I'm going to make sure it isn't the last!

May 2012 be a very happy, healthy and successful year for us all!

Yawn

I know my blog has been a bit of a yawn lately, but with LZ almost turning a month old I predict more blog posting in my near future. At least that's the plan anyway!

The Best Excuse!

If you thought my blog absence might mean that I had my baby then you'd be right! We welcomed our beautiful baby boy Leo into the world last Monday. 8 pounds, 4 ounces, 20 inches and absolutely perfect!

The baby, myself, daddy and big brother WZ are all doing great. And while my family and I get settled and cuddled in I'll be blogging when I can. Probably not too much for awhile but that's OK because I have the best excuse!

This Explains Everything

I can finally tell you why I've had my knitting funk… some of you may have even guessed it. I'm pregnant!!! Now that I'm in my second trimester I'm ready to let the word out. We are so thankful and excited to welcome baby number 2 this November!

Another great thing about the second trimester is that I'm starting to feel lots better. Still tired a lot but at least the thought of knitting doesn't make me want to puke anymore! Seriously…

Bring on the baby knits!!!

Bittersweet

There have been a lot of changes in my life going on right now. I've recently been laid off from a company that I really enjoyed designing for. The lay off was a direct result of the economy but it still was unexpected. Although I will miss the company and the people that I worked with it's really bittersweet for me. Bittersweet because I've always wanted to go out on my own. Having Knitterella and Jill Zielinski Designs be my full time work has been my dream for a long time and now I'm getting the chance to see if it will come true. At least now, either way it turns out, I'll know I had my chance to try.

I have more product coming soon for Knitterella that I'm totally excited about and I'm so thankful that my freelance business is really picking up right now. I believe everything happens for a reason and I'm very excited to see what the future holds!

Ahhh, Florida

Hello there! I'm fresh back from a weeks vacation in Florida. First family vacation and it was great. WZ didn't know what to think of the giant bath tub at first, but he sure loved being out in the sunshine - so did I!

Of course, I stressed over packing enough knitting projects for trip. I packed these, and then yarn for this, and yarn for some ribbed socks too. I packed all that with visions of me on the beach, needles in one hand and a cocktail in the other - ahhh, pure bliss… of course now I'm back and I haven't even finished my second Charade!

Soon though, very soon.

Yarn Action

I'm sorry my blog has been so boring lately… A lot has been going on and unfortunately not a lot of knitting. Will is actually getting more 'yarn action' then I am! Hopefully that will change soon.

Will's Photo Session

Will had his newborn photo session yesterday with Nichol Krupp Photography. She is an amazing local photographer that I've been very anxious to get into and now that Will's here it all came together. The shoot yesterday was so fun! Funny too when Will pooped ALL OVER Ed! Too bad she didn't get that shot - only reason she didn't was because she was laughing too hard!

Here is a sneak peak that she sent me - she has a more posted on her blog too - Check them out! can't wait to see them all.

I HIGHLY recommend Niki to anyone looking for a photographer. As you can see, she's ultra talented and such an awesome person too!

P.S. Glad I grabbed my knitted Karate Sweater - the texture looks great in the photo.

My Water Broke!!!

Yes, that's right, my water broke and it broke a whole month early - what a surprise to say the least! This took place last Monday and the next morning we had a beautiful baby boy!

Will Robert Zielinski
born, Tuesday May 19th at 6:11 a.m.
6 pounds, 4 ounces and 19 inches.
We are so in love!

Since the little stinker decided to come a month early we had to stay at the hospital for a number of days because lil' Will had to spend some time in the NICU. It's so wonderful to be home from the hospital with our sweet baby boy! How blessed we are.

I know you hate me for not posting any pics but I will as soon as things fall into place over here. Just had to update you!

P.S. For anyone waiting on a Knitterella order I will get them out as soon as I can! Sorry for the delay but I'm sure you'll understand  :)

Therapy Knitting

"Life is too short for what ifs"

A motto I try to live by but often this idea gets lost in the busy day to day. Then, unfortunately, something so sad, so unexpected and tragic like this happens and life is put back into perspective. Why does it take things like this to jolt us back and remind us how fragile we all are?

Time to remember what is really important and to cherish every day and every moment we are blessed with, especially the time spent with the ones we love.

I will miss my uncle always…

Happy New Year!

The party's over and now it's a day of vegging out, watching football, eating (more) food and being with family (hope to start a baby hat or two for some expectant friends too).

We rang in the New Year the usual way, with a party at our basement bar with family and friends. It's always a great time with lots of good food, stiff drinks, fast cards, happy dancing, and many laughs! Despite being sick for 10 days (but who's counting!) Christmas and New Years was just wonderful! I hope you all had a great time over the holidays and I look forward to catching up on your blogs.

I wish you and yours the very best in 2008!!!

Marley, 1992-2007

This was the photo on our Christmas card last year. The inside read, "Marley Christmas."At 1:30 a.m. today we woke up to Marley having a massave seizure/stroke. By 2:30 a.m. we were at the vet and he was put to rest. It's so hard to not have him here with us. Marley was a good and layoal dog. He was a best friend. He is already missed so much.We love you, Marley.
