BLOG TOUR: Boys' Knits

Today I'm excited to post as part of a blog tour for a new and exciting book by Katya Frankel called Boys' Knits.

I did some graphic design work for Katya (aka the bingeknitter) a few years back and that is how I became familiar with her work. She is a very talented knitwear designer and when I heard she was designing a book dedicated to knits for boys I was really excited. And totally honored when she asked me to be a stop on her blog tour.

This book couldn't be more fitting for me. Being a mom of two boys I certainly know that modern, stylish knitting patterns for boys can be hard to come by. How refreshing it was to see that Katya solved this problem with her new book Boys' Knits. This wonderful book offers 16 very cool, modern and fun to knit sweaters for boys. We're talking sweaters for boys in the 4-14+ age range. How awesome is that?!

Not only is there a wide range of boy-friendly styles but guess what? They are all seamless designs that are worked from the bottom up. Gotta love that!

In this book you'll find stylish vests…

(pattern name: "Ryker")

Cozy sweaters…

(pattern name: "Rigel")

 Cool cardigans…

(pattern name: "Chip")

And even colorwork…

(pattern name: "Taradiddle")

I love them all but I think for me, I'll have to cast on for DAX first!

(pattern name: "Dax")

This awesome book is published by Cooperative Press and you can buy it HERE. You can also buy in on Ravelry HERE.

Lucky for us - or should I say one of us :) Katya was generous enough to offer a copy for a giveaway! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of the book. I'll draw a lucky winner next week and email you your own copy Boys' Knits.

Fall In Full Color with Anne!

I'm blogging to you today to tell you about an amazing knit club. It's a club that is hosted by the extremely talented Anne Hanson of Knitspot. I really haven't been one to join knit clubs — not because I don't want too but mainly because I haven't had much 'me knitting' these days — but that just might change as Anne is about to launch her fabulous Fall In Full Color club.

The Fall In Full Color club explores a variety of gorgeous yarn fibers and colors all from independent dyers (love that!). From these gorgeous yarns, Anne designs patterns specifically inspired from the beautiful colors and fibers. All the patterns for this club are fall and winter accessories, designed to be fun, portable knits perfect for gifting (or for keeping for yourself!). To give you a taste of the kind of beautiful patterns that you'll have access to as a club member I'm showing 3 of the 8 patterns that were in last years club. Beautiful aren't they!

Membership to the Fall In Full Color club includes a gorgeous, luxury yarn selection for each month, a beautiful pattern eBook which is delivered in monthly chapters, as well as the opportunity to meet, chat and work on projects with other members through Anne's very active (and hilarious) Ravelry Clubhouse.

The club begins shipping in August but sign ups are open NOW! So go check it out. I think becoming a member of Anne's Fall In Full Color club is the perfect way to start off the fall knitting season. Don't you?
