Wool In July?

I know, I know, I must be crazy to start a sweater in July using thick, chunky, 100% wool, but I can't help myself! This yarn I bought is to dye for and so is the pattern! The yarn is so luxurious! It was a real splurge and I'm loving it on my needles! Sooooo soft! The yarn is Soft Chunky by Wenlan Chia. The pattern is from her Big City Knits book. There are a lot of great looking patterns in there but I decided to go with the Karate Sweater.oooo, I hope this turns out - I'm sure I'll get a lot of wear out of it!

FYI - I must say that Big City knits seems to have a lot of errors. There is a whole page of them here. Plus, I already found this error on my pattern repeat. It has to be a mistake… as you can see I'm going for the P2tog on the wrong sides. Looks pretty good so far, hope there are no more errors in this pattern!

Great looking sweater! I love the natural color you choose. Gosh, you'll be done with this one fast.

That's too many errors for one book. I can understand a typo here and there but that looks like they rewrote parts of patterns. And then you found a non-corrected error on top of that! Very frustrating!

I'm certainly not going to judge you for knitting a sweater in July:) Beside, tomorrow is the first of August and by September in Michigan it's possible to NEED a sweater. So the way I look at it, you're just preparing a few weeks in advance.

That yarn looks lovely. There's nothing wrong with getting a head start on your winter knits;-)
I live in central TX so it's not that often I need winter woolies! I'm usually still wearing t-shirts in December!
I love the pictures you share.

I will be very interested to see your sweater. I was really not into that Big City knits for two reasons: 1. chunky yarn + not petite girl... 2. all the sizes seemed really really small!
However, I've seen a few knits from this book that turn out really cute and inviting.
I just can't wait to see your version.

If you were my sister I would demand that you make me one of those for Christmas!

Great choice of yarn and pattern! That's a bummer about all the errors in the book, I can't wait to see how it turns out, I bet it will be super cute!

That yarn looks so chunk and comfy! I pulled some of my first merino handspun from the yarn pile last night and made an EZ snail hat. Your yarn reminds me of mine, but mine is a 2ply. Either way, it is like knitting with clouds, right?? I'll have a picture of my hat up soon. I think it is going to be sent off to this gracious woman who sewed me a second pair of pants (for free!) when the first wound up missing in transit!
