Finished another adorable baby hat! Thanks to my readers that suggested this pattern. The unique construction made it a lot of fun and just like the Cheery Scrap Hat, I finished it in two evenings. I hoping to get one or two more done before my segment on TV tomorrow morning!

Eli Preview

The Eli Slouch is a stylish, loose-fitting hat, with a decorative stitch patterned brim. Using 2 skeins of Kollage Yarns, Solace, this is an easy and fun knit.

I'm thrilled to work with Kollage Yarns on my first, non-self-published pattern. I'm so excited that the release date is almost here – I will let you know when the pattern is live and ready for you to knit!

FO: Keegan Baby Set
Yay, a new FO! This cute Keegan Baby Hat & Socks Set. It's a gift for a friend that just had a boy around the same time as me. She's a fellow knitter and knitwear designer - can you guess who she is?

This adorable set is a design from the talented Carrie Sullivan of Irish Girlie Knits. I knit this in Sock-a-licious from Kollage Yarns and this blue colorway is just perfect.

The best thing about knitting this in Sock-a-licious is not only is it a great yarn but I have enough left over to knit another set. This next one will be for LZ of course.

FO: Master Charles Hat
I managed to get a few hats done this past week. Two were gifts and went in the mail right away with no time for photos. This one I just finished and am holding on to it just in case we welcome a lil' boy here in a few weeks!

This handsome little pattern is called theMaster Charles Hat and is designed by the lovely Kate Oates of Tot Toppers. There is also a sweater pattern available to go with call the Master Charles Sweater. I definitely think I need to get some yarn so I can make this into a set. Adorable!

Girl Progress
Wow. I'm not sure where the week went but sorry for my lack of posting. Everything is going good over here. Making some progress on my 'just-in-case-it's-a-gril' blanket. Isn't it working out beautifully? I think this blanket is going to be so gorgeous!

Since there is a quite a bit of chart work to follow for this project I need to have some mindless knitting going on as well. I always loved the way Melynda's Lazy Daisy Turban turned out so I finally made one of my own. I think this hat is so cute and looks even cuter on a baby. Did you see Melynda's photos?

As you can see I'm making some progress on my girl knits. One thing I wish I had more progress on was a name picked out for a girl. Since we have a long last name we'd like something short. We tend to like the old-fashion names too. Do you have any ideas? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The Bears & The Bees
Although I'm still not in the mood to knit (and it's freaking me out) I did get a couple more cute hats done.

These two went to a sweet baby girl.

Two For A Girl
I've got a couple sweet hats for a girl done. Since a lot of my friends are not finding out the sex of their babies (including me) my plan is to stock up on boy and girl knits.

This is a good start don't you think? Cute, cute!

Louisa Hat
Baby hats are always well loved gifts. Especially when they are adorned with sweet flowers like this!

I made this flower following Heather Bailey's easy Pop Garden Scrap Flower Tutorial, attached a pin to the back and pinned it onto this hat. These flowers are very fun and great for scrap fabric. Go make some! Be careful though, they are addicting!

FPK's Lansing Beret
I got a few shots of some of my last minute Christmas gifts that I haven't shown you yet. Here I am in the "Lansing Beret" designed by French Press Knits. It's a great little knit. Just enough chart work to keep it interesting. It's a really pretty stitch pattern.

I totally recommend this fast, cute and fun knit. The recipient loved it as well!

More Slouch
This was a quick knit - finished it while WZ napped - gotta love that! I knit this hat with Malabrigo… OK, so I never understood what all the fuss was about with Malabrigo yarn but now I totally get it… this yarn ROCKS! The yarn is so wonderful to knit with. Love the color too. I will totally be knitting with more Malabrigo in the future. I think this hat did turned out good but I was hoping for it to have a bit more slouch. Nonetheless, it is a cute hat and I will wear it proudly.

I want to give a special thanks to Melynda for taking these photos. I always feel a little awkward when I have someone take photos of me and my knits, especially in public. We had some good laughs doing this in the parking lot after our fab (but CHEESY) dinner. From there we made it down to the SE Michigan Crafter's Meetup. The Meetup had a really great turn out. Lots of girls sewing and knitting. (see photos HERE) I had a really nice time and meet a lot of fun and crafty girls. So glad I got to meet the lovely Rae - she super nice and has inspired me to get my sewing machine out again. She was working on a super cute top and also a quilt that I feel in love with. I also left the meetup feeling inspired to try some designing of my own. It's something I've always wanted to do. Maybe a hat with 'more slouch' just might be my first pattern design. hmmmmm… let's see if I can keep the motivation/inspriation going!

A Hat and TPK
I feel like it's been awhile since I've posted a new FO and finally I have one to show you. This little knitted hat was a must. With the colder weather setting in WZ needed a nice, warm hat with ear flaps.

This one was something I sort of made up as I went. Used stash yarn too which is always a plus. I really like the way the colors worked out together.

I also have another FO of a different kind to show you. I've been busy with my graphic design work and just finished up a revamp of The Plucky Knitter's look. She wanted a cozy, vintage feel without straying too far from her original Plucky look. With a new blog-over, logo, avatar and banners we are both really happy with how things turned out. Be sure to visit her blog to see the makeover in full. *Please note for TPK's blog, I did the graphic design/art direction and Moonarts make it live by doing the html and coding.

I'm excited to say that I'm working on a couple more logos and pattern layouts for some popular names in the knitting community. Once they are done I'll be excited to share them with you. Remember, if you are in need of any graphic design work, please feel free to contact me at jillzielinski@gmail.com — I'd be happy to work with you!

Two Hats Part 2
After I saw A Friend To Knit With's blog post about Hope I wanted to follow her lead.

Because I wanted to be a part of it too I'm sending these two hats. Any little bit helps.
Craft hope for Hati is a great thing. The amount they've earned already from the generous craft community is amazing.

100% of the proceeds from the shop go to Doctors Without Borders. There are so many great handmade items up for sale - you simply must check it out!

Ana Slouch Hat
I finished this awhile back and am just getting to post about it now. I struggled with the funky bind-off but thanks to your tips from the last post on this I was able to get through it. Turned out pretty cute too if I do say so myself!
