FO: Anthro-Style Head Wrap

At Melynda's last visit I got her to finish help me finish a long overdue project.

This Anthro-Style Plaited Head Wrap took me over a year to make! It has been hibernating to a long time because I got hung up on the braided assembly. Since this is one of Melynda's own patterns, I got her to show me how it's done. Turn out super cute too!

In case you didn't know already, this is a free pattern. Go CHECK IT OUT!

Scrunchie Wristlets

As soon as these fingerless gloves were off my needles, I took a quick photo and then wrapped them up for Miss O. A perfect little birthday gift for her. I think she really liked them. I know I did!

Cowl No. 1

Yes, I have totally joined the cowl craze that is taking over the knitting world and I'm lovin' it! I think I need to join this Flickr group to make it official and become a  Cowlgirl!

This is the first of many to come. It's the Purl's Cashmere Cowl Pattern and it's a FREE one!

Very simple and very cute - looks cute with my butterfly pin too.

Pattern Source: "Purl's Cashmere Cowl" FREE from Purl Soho
Yarn: It is some wonderful hand-dyed yarn from The Plucky Knitter - one of the skeins from the package that I got from her - I think it might have been called "The Plucky Knitter BFL Fingering" - 400 yrds to the skein so I will have enough to make another for sure.
Needles: I think they were my 10 1/2, 16 inch circulars???

A Pin Cushion

This project has been sitting on my craft table half finished forever. I got a little bit of sewing time yesterday so I thought I'd get around to finishing it.

It's the Easy Pin Cushion, free from Bari J. Great way to use up scraps. These fabrics scraps were from my mom's stash from years ago, kind of retro looking - actually the fabric brings back lots of memories from my moms crafting and me always stealing borrowing fabric, yarn and whatever else I could get my crafty little hands on.

These would make cute little gifts too don't you think? I think every girl needs a pin cushion - even if you don't sew! Oooo, one done with these would be very sweet as well.

Thanks for the pattern Bari J!

Coffee Coozie

I found this free knit from the blog of MK Carroll. It's her Mug and French Press Jacket pattern and it can be found here.

This was a quick knit for sure! First time I ever did a smocking pattern and I loved it! I must do this stitch pattern again. Love the texture!

I decided to knit the this in the round from the top down. I made it for a to-go coffee mug (so no openings needed for a handle) -- If you are a Ravelry member go check out the one gumboots did. I followed her instructions for the top down method and it worked out great! It's also is nice to use as a coozie for a mason jar and then use it hold your hooks, scissors, pens or whatever you want!Pattern Source: MK Carroll's, Mug and French Press Jacket
Yarn: Filtes-King Extra, 100% Merino Wool
Needles: Size 7s (16 inch circulars and DPNs)
