Just finished another Sonoran Cowl. This one is a sample knit for my LYS, Apple Valley Yarn Company. I think the turquoise and grey look great together!

Red Lansing Cowl

Although I finished this cowl last year, I have never taken the time to do a proper blog post on it until now. With the weather getting colder I've been wearing my Lansing Cowl a lot lately. It's one of my favorite cowls to throw on. It's warm and oh so pretty!

This Lansing Cowl is a design from my friend, Melynda Bernardi of French Press Knits. It's a beautiful and wearable pattern that I really enjoyed knitting. There is even a Lansing Beret pattern to match - I made that last year too.

The Plucky Knitter's Merino Alpaca Silk Worsted is a favorite yarn of mine. This red is the perfect shade for the upcoming Holidays too. Don't you agree?

FO: Cream And Sugar Cowl

From the second Alana sent me over the pattern info to layout out her new Cream And Sugar Cowl I knew I had to make it. I casted on pretty much right away and within a week I had it done. Simply gorgeous!

With only a few rows of cabling it went a lot faster then I thought it would. Got to use up stash sock yarn too. I've been saving this beautiful colorway from The Plucky Knitter for a special project and this cowl was perfect. I've been wearing this a lot. Already contemplating casting on for another in a different colorway.

Cowl Love

Since I don't have any FO excitement to share these days I thought I'd share an FO from someone else. Thank you Katie for sending this beautiful cowl to donate to Autumn! So generous of you help out. It's greatly appreciated.

Remember, if you are in the area, you can buy these cowls and scarfs at Apple Valley Yarn Company in Freeland Michigan. All proceeds go to Autumn (read Autumn's story HERE).

Katie, if your reading this, email me your pattern and yarn info. This is a sweet cowl and I'd love to know the pattern. Thanks again!

Autumn Cowl

I finished the cowl for Autumn. It was a quick knit and the yarn is oh so soft! Sometimes it's hard to find a cowl that lies just right, this one turned out nice.

The best I can tell you about the pattern is that it was a print out that I got at Stitches. It's called "Cowl Neck or Head Cover Using Cascade Yarn's Baby Alpaca Chunky". That's some kind of title! It will be for sale at Apple Valley Yarn Company in Freeland, MI if anyone local is interested in buying it. The proceeds go to Autumn.

Fox Tail Luxe

I wish you could reach out and touch this yarn. It's sooooo soft! I love it. The colorways are just awesome too. I bought three skeins of this yummy yarn at my LYS, each a different colorway. I wear the first Luxe Neck Warmer that I made all the time so I'm making three more with this yarn. Two are gifts and of course one for me!

On a side-note, Vicki is giving away a set of Denise interchangeable needles. Check it out and enter!

Cowl No. 1

Yes, I have totally joined the cowl craze that is taking over the knitting world and I'm lovin' it! I think I need to join this Flickr group to make it official and become a  Cowlgirl!

This is the first of many to come. It's the Purl's Cashmere Cowl Pattern and it's a FREE one!

Very simple and very cute - looks cute with my butterfly pin too.

Pattern Source: "Purl's Cashmere Cowl" FREE from Purl Soho
Yarn: It is some wonderful hand-dyed yarn from The Plucky Knitter - one of the skeins from the package that I got from her - I think it might have been called "The Plucky Knitter BFL Fingering" - 400 yrds to the skein so I will have enough to make another for sure.
Needles: I think they were my 10 1/2, 16 inch circulars???
