I Walked The Mackinac Bridge

Can't believe we did it but today hubby and I got up at 3:00 a.m. to walk the Mackinac Bridge. It's a Labor Day tradition of my father-in-law and this year we joined him (along with my sister-in-law her husband and their her 4 kids, ages 2, 5, 8 and 10). We got picked up at 3:30 a.m., made the 2.5 hr drive, waited in a crazy long line that took just about 2 hrs and then, FINALLY got on the bridge at 10 a.m. and made the 5 mile walk. I was number 27081 to cross the bridge! Then of course we had the traffic to deal with coming back.

Anyways, we're finally home and boy am I exhausted! I'm going to spend the rest of my Labor Day on the couch! Knitting!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

WOW! Congratulations on the walk, not to mention the crazy time you got up to do it. I hope you did spend the rest of today on the couch, relaxing, and knitting.
Happy Labor Day!

Wow, what a great walking adventure! I think it's a great way to spend :Labor Day - then you kind of earned loafing on the couch for the rest of the day - with a good book or knitting...

honestly, the waking up early and waiting in line aside, that sounds like a super fun day! being outside with so many people doing such a cool thing, being with loved ones, and having a great excuse to spend the rest of the day on the couch without the guilt- it all sounds great! congrats!

What a great tradition. I would enjoy doing that and it looked like a beautiful day. That is kind of early though.

cool.. I think I've been on that bridge before, my brother was stationed there and we had to visit him during the winter and we got stuck on the other side of the bridge because of a blizzard..if thats the same one :0)
