JVC Video On Mac

We got a JVC Everio and I have a Mac. I can't get the videos to play on my Mac for the life of me. Anyone with this camcorder and a Mac? Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Just throwing it out there to see if anyone has any tips or can help. Thanks!

Hey Jill. I wish I could help. Are you trying to play them in a certain program? or does the Mac not recognize the file type at all? I have always found the Apple support forums to be very helpful. Maybe you could search there and see if anyone else had the same problem and fixed it? Sorry I couldn't offer more. Hope you figure it out.

My Mac doesn't recognize the file type at all. It's a MOI and MOD file.

Thanks for the suggestion Sara. I'll try to check that out.

I had the worst problem ever to upload my videos onto my Mac until I went to Bestbuy and they told me I needed some fire(something) cable. I picked it up for about $15 and have no problems now!

I would simply bring in your camcorder to a Bestbuy or Apple store and they'll let you know what to do/what you need! Hope this helps.

JVC Everio camcorders are compatible with iMovie '08 and iMovie '09 video editing software.

Here's a link to a video tutorial on how to edit JVC Everio footage using iMovie '09:

Hope this helps.

I don't know how legit this site is, but it has a link to a MOD file converter for Mac:

Good luck!
