They really are so addictive. With socks the possibilities are endless. You can never be bored. And they are so portable. I love those tubes too. Keeps those DPNs right where they should be. That yarn is so gorgeous. I can't wait to see more. BTW, you have made Charades a few times, right? I need to make some socks for my mom for Mother's Day and I am thinking about trying that pattern. What has you captivated enough to make it more than once? Thanks for any insight you might have on it.
Trisha, thanks for the post. I've only knit 2 pairs of socks for myself and both have been Charades. I like the pattern because it's only a two row repeat to remember and one of the rows is just Knit. It's very easy and I love the way it looks. I think it would look great for a guys sock too. You should totally make a pair for you AND your mom!
I have got lots of yarns stocked up from around the time of this new year ... that was when I truly realized that it was fun to knit socks.
I have not tried the Charades, but think that I did check the pattern. So...I've now got yarn, lots of needles, just need some of that precious commodity ... time.
You are too funny. I finished the first pair for Joe and have moved on to a new project. I thought I might be hooked, but my current project is not a sock :)
I have bought stuff to make socks and then I just chickened out. 3 types of sock yarn, Long circular to do the magic loop and a book on toe up socks and now $110.00 later its just sitting there. Maybe one day... I hope bc I LOVE knitted socks!!
That's great! I, unfortunately, can't call myself a sock knitter. Socks are just not my thing. I am trying to knit a pair this year, but have only managed to crochet a pair!
i'm knitting my first "pair" of socks. i did knit "a" sock 3 years ago and it was just way to complex at the time. i'm knitting 2 socks at a time on a magic loop and i'm hooked! i'm using the same yarn and the colorway is gorgeous.
