Frogged?

I got almost done with my Poncho Vest and realized, I'm not going to wear this…I thought it was cute in the magazine - and it is on the model - but I'm not going to wear it. Not a biggie though. The gauge was so big it took no time to knit so I don't feel bad about unraveling it. Plus, I'd much rather reuse the yarn for something that I really like and I will have no problem finding an other purpose for this Van Dyck yarn. So I guess it's frogged.*I have to ask, can someone tell me what 'frogged' actually means and where it came from? I've been seeing the word a lot and I'm assuming I'm using the term correctly… am I? Do you know what it means?

Went on a little yarn hop today on my way back from Detroit. Visited a couple shops for the first time. Both were really cute and had really nice owners. Look at my goodies! Yarn always puts a smile on my face and a dent in my wallet!

I see Noro!
I think you are using the word frogged correctly, but not sure where it came from.

I thought it was cos the sound the frog makes is 'ribbit', which sounds like rippit, which sounds like rip-it, (as in rip it out)or I could be totally wrong?
I wonder if I can frog my cozy shrug even though I've sewn it up and it's completely finished (just needs a button) but I don't think I'd wear it either?
Hmmm, it's a thought.
Enjoy your weekend.

I think it is the Rip-it sound too...just like ribbit...the sound a frog makes.

Hey Jill, are you going to join the Holiday Kal-Cal? I know Sharon and I both would LOVE to have you!

Just wanting to thank you for your kind words regarding Sheeba and to offer my condolences for Marley. I understand what you're going through and how it feels to loose a dog. They tell me it gets better with time...

I always admire people who can frog and not look back:) And nice stash enhancing too, a worthy reward for your bravery:)

I always heard it was the rip it rip it. This article explains it a bit too http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter03/FEATwin03TT.html

just found your blog as I was looking for ideas on making my knitting journal. I tried to download your journal pages but it said that it was no longer available. do you have it in a different place or are you selling your journals again?
and frogging did come from the sound a frog makes, Rip it, Rip it.
funny huh. Love your blog, Cindy

I am glad you made the vest before I got to it. I haven't made it because, firstly, I am lazy, and secondly I haven't found the right yarn for the project. It always a little unfortunate to frog a project. Way to be positive about it!

Bummer about the Poncho Vest, but it is better to use the yarn for something you'd actually like to wear!

Looks like some great stuff you got from the yarn shops :)

Hey, a girl made a similar tunic and wrote about it in Vogue. She added two pockets below the waistline and wore it with a wide belt slung over her hips. I'll send you the article...
