Mosaic Switchplates Finished

Guess what I finally got to… yup, my mosiac switchplates!

This one is from that mirror that I broke

and this one is done out of buttons from my stash…

Aren't they cute! It really is a fun and easy project. If your interested this is a shot of the glue and grout that I used…

I'm sure there are many more options out there but this is what I used this time, got it from Jo Ann's and it worked great. There are easy to follow directions on the back too.

Here's a shot of my switchplates after I glued them. You can see the glue in some spots and that is OK because it dries clear and plus it get covered up with grout.

I was excited about the beach glass one I have here but the pieces didn't end up sticking, either I didn't use enough glue or they weren't flat enough on the side I glued. Bummer. I really like the other two though!

Let me know if you try this. I'd love to see what you come up with!

Gorgeous!! I think I'm in love with the buttons one... ;) Mitch's hat is great, too...but why does it always take 1 ".25" skeins to make a hat...can't they put enough yarn in your average skein for an entire hat? These are the things that keep me up at night (haha).

I especially love the button one. I might have to try something like that for my sewing room! Thanks for sharing the info on the materials (glue and grout) that you used.
