Pay It Forward

When I was at Stitches Midwest I won this skein and cowl pattern at the student show dinner. I decided now was the perfect time to start it and Autumn is the perfect person to knit if for and here's why…

Fundraiser for Autumn

Eighteen year old Autumn lives on the outskirts of Midland Michigan and was involved in a horse accident the third weekend in August 2010. She currently has severe internal head injuries and remains in a coma. Her cousin, Amanda, would like to raise money for the family by selling homemade knitted scarves and cowls. Apple Valley Yarn Company, located in Freeland Michigan, has agreed to help make this a successful fundraiser by being a drop off spot for all the scarves donated. People can purchase the scarves at the store and 100% of the proceeds will go to Autumn’s family to help cover expenses.

Winter is just around the corner. Help make someone warm, by either making a scarf to be donated or purchasing a scarf as a gift for a loved one.

This fundraiser will continue through at least Christmas.

If you would like to donate or purchase a scarf, please contact Apple Valley Yarn Company at 989-692-2900.

You can also email me at knitterella@knitterella.com for more information on how to participate. By-the-way, her favorite color is pink - another reason why my win at Stitches is perfect for this fundraiser.
