Clara Kit

I got such a wonderful surprise in the mail the other day. My sweet friend Meylnda of French Press Knits sent me the Clara Dress pattern along with beautiful yarn to make it!

I always admired the one she made for her baby girl so for her to remember that and take the time to order me a pattern and the yarn was so thoughtful. I love the colorway she picked too. If by chance I do have a girl, this adorable red dress would be great for Christmas and Valentine's day. Thank you SO much Meylnda!!!

It's obvious I'm not having a hard time finding cute baby girl knits to work on. I do need to get some baby boy outfits done too. Do you have any favorite baby boy knits? Leave me a comment, I would love to hear yours suggestions!

P.S. My Maude Honeycomb Blanket is blocking as we speak!

P.P.S. If you follow Meylnda's blog - don't worry, she alive and doing well and will be back to posting very soon :)

I have this book: http://www.amazon.com/reader/ASIN/1601408722#reader_1601408722 (check the "look inside" for some pattern previews -- the cabled sweater is one I'm making for my boys (upsizing it on my own), and I love the vest, though they've muddled the argyle I think...

There are some cute boy sweaters in it, and if you like retro, some super cute suspender/overall short/pant type things, lol. Let me know if you want to take a look sometime!

A boy pattern I especially love and WANT is the Gramps Cardigan by Kate Oats! So adorable, and it comes in a women's size too! Can you say matchy-matchy? There aren't many patterns I think would look great on babies and women, but this one definitely pulls it off!

CUTE, love that dress and glad she's doing well - I was JUST thinking about her!

I love Kristen Rengren's Vintage Baby Knits book - looks of cute boy and girl knits!

I really like a boy in a vest. This could probably be scaled down to newborn size: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rainbow-trout
