The Head Bitch and I

Gosh, it's been a long time since I've done any interviews and this week I get to share two with you!

Here is a shot of me in my new studio/office. This photo was used for the fun interview I just did with the head bitch himself, Steven of Bitches Get Stitches. I met Steven at the Yarn Harlot class I took last May. He is so fun to be around – I'm really looking forward to our next meet up. If you aren't familiar with his blog, Bitches Get Stitches, you must check it out. He's very talented and certainly has a way with words!

If you are interested you can read the interview HERE.

Thread Inspired

I stumbled upon these the other day and fell in LOVE with them. Love them so much it inspired to me to dig out the old box of threads I got from my grandma when she passed. I've been holding onto this box for many years now. She is the one that taught me how to crochet when I was a very young girl - this project will be perfect.

I'm so pleased to have found my beloved box of threads. I also found a bunch of old hooks and this handkerchief with crocheted edging - she did tons of projects like this with beautiful edging.

All of WREN's work is so inspiring - just love her style. If you haven't seen her work you must go check it out. Her crochet pieces are my favorite.

I've got a few different projects I'm working on right now - really got my 'crafting itch' back - my mind is working full tilt with ideas and projects - I just need to find the time to do them!

New Books And A Blog

I got some new books to add to my madness of fast crafting. I know - I'm my own worst enemy!

But how could I resist? Of course I love so many things in both of these sweet books. For sure I'm going to work on some projects out of Little Stitches from the amazing Amy Butler. I did sew the crib skirt out of the book over the weekend and am contemplating doing the crib bumper too. Well, after some surfing of the web I came across an awesome new blog that has made it a for sure now - Check out More Than One Way To Knit A Hat. Now that is a nursery! OMG, I LOVE everything about it! And the crib set is the one out of Little Stitches. She also has the Modern Diaper Bag there too - that was another project I was eyeing up from the book.

Gosh, sooo much to do, and I'm realizing I have sooo much less time then I thought… I'm freakin' myself out!

New Skirt! New Books!

I finally finished this skirt! I started a few months ago. The fabric is a damask print corduroy that I picked up at Jo Anns and the pattern is Amy Butler's, Barcelona Skirt. I'm so proud of this skirt because I got this pattern hoping to use it for many skirts but my worry was the zipper. Well, I tell ya, I staired at my finished piece for a long time - I did really good (if I do say so myself)! The fit is good too and I plan to make more for spring and summer.

Ah yes, the books, well since December I've been splurging on books - sorry the pics not too good - anyways, I love design and craft books, as you can see, I don't have much will power for a good book with tons of inspiration:

A Knitting Glossary with Elizabeth Simmermann DVD (there is so much info in this DVD, this was a good buy for sure)

T-Shirt Style: Super-Easy New Looks in No Time (I love the idea of refashioning clothes that I already have in my closet - plus great projects for my serger)

Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-Shirt (there are a couple skirts in here that you can make out of big 'ol t-shirts, I have to try this)

Knitting Little Luxuries: Beautiful Accessories to Knit (LOVE the style of this book, so pretty to look at and some irresistible patterns in here, lots of embellishing too - my fav!)

Knit 2 Together: Patterns and Stories for Serious Knitting Fun (There is a shrug in here that I HAVE to make!)

Bend-the-Rules Sewing: The Essential Guide to a Whole New Way to Sew (many projects that I want to make in here and I love the way it's written)

KnitKnit: Profiles + Projects from Knitting's New Wave (love the stories in her, very inspirational, and I love the cover - wonder if I can get this as a poster?)

oooh, so many great projects and ideas I don't know what to start. But hopefully I'll be starting another ME project soon!

Summer Knitty

Yippee! Summer Knitty is here! So fun when the new issue comes out. I don't know about you, but I go right to the free patterns. So many talented designers sharing their work, it's fantastic!

I feel kind of silly but I really, REALLY want to knit these Bloomers - YES BLOOMERS! HA!

(They actually remind me of Free People because I think last winter they had bloomers layered under skirts with leggins in their catalog. So cute!)

The pattern is really called Unmentionables by Lee Wood Juvan.

Thank You Knitty and Thank You Lee!
